Event Description:
The Language, Literacy & Sociocultural Studies Graduate Student Association (LLSS GSA) Presents the 2013 Critical Theory, Activism and Social Transformation Lecture Series. The 2013 Spring Lecture Series will focus on Critical Theory and Social Transformation. Speakers will engage in dialogue that will challenge scholars, educators, and policy- makers to think critically about issues of power, privilege, and social transformation in multiple domains (education, health policy, counseling, communication, etc.).
Lecture, “A Critical Look into Environmental Communication and Ecocultural Change” with speaker, Tema O. Milstein, an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico in the department of Communication & Journalism. Her primary research and teaching focus is on critical and interpretive inquiry into cultural perceptions, practices, and productions of nature.
